Topics that MGR focuses on

(1) Relationships between medical gases and their significant effects on human survival, human health, and related diseases, including reactive oxygen species, hypoxia, oxygen, nitric oxide, singlet oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxide, argon, and helium.
(2) Applications and effects of medical gases in innovative technologies such as photodynamic therapy, drug delivery, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, antioxidants, photothermal therapy, sonodynamic therapy, nano-iron oxide ions, iron oxide, oxygen generation, hypoxia, tumor hypoxia, antioxidants, and plasma.
(3) Role and mechanism of medical gases in basic medical research fields such as biomaterials, pharmacology, biochemistry, mitochondria, ferroptosis, aging, antibacterial, apoptosis, angiogenesis, immunotherapy, drug resistance, oxidative stress, and exosomes.
(4) Role and mechanism of medical gases in the application of clinical medical fields such as tumor therapy, tumor microenvironment, imaging medicine, inflammation, wound healing, plateau medicine, submarine medicine, anesthesia medicine, hyperbaric oxygen medicine, interventional treatment, microbiology, cardiovascular medicine, and neuroscience.
MGR welcomes novel basic research articles in the aforementioned and related fields, comprehensive, systematic, and in-depth review articles reflecting current hot issues, perspectives, and commentary articles that are of reference value to readers, evidence-based medicine articles, and big data analysis articles describing the innovative clinical applications of medical gases. We hope that MGR will become an international recognized academic journal with significant academic influence, serving as a valuable resource for scientific inquiry and practical application in the field of medical gas research.

Editor-in-Chief

John H. Zhang, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor
Departments of Anesthesiology,Physiology, Neurosurgery and Neurology,
Loma Linda University, USA

Professor Zhang received his medical training in Chongqing China in 1987 and his PhD in Edmonton, Canada in 1992, focused on neurobiology and in particular, cerebrovascular disorders. Prof. Zhang edited the textbook "Hyperbaric Oxygen for Neurological Disorders" in 2008. Currently a professor in neurosurgery and physiology, with a secondary appointment in anesthesiology and neurology at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Prof. Zhang conducts translational research in medical gas and neurovascular biology fields.
